On Wednesday evening, March 1, Stockton Women’s Lacrosse beat the Bears 14-11 at Ursinus College. This was the Osprey’s third consecutive win after their season-opening loss against St. Mary’s College of Maryland. This is a better start than the 2022 season. The Ospreys started off 2-2 compared to their 3 wins and 1 loss this season and loss to Ursinus College, 12-15.
Senior midfield Mary McLaughlin had a fantastic game, scoring five goals. Her teammates Lilly Alessandro and Aubrey Giordano scored three points. This match was huge for McLaughlin. She contributed 1-2 points in the last couple of matches but dominated this game.
In the first quarter, the teams were tied neck and neck at 4 goals. At the end of the second, McLaughlin made two out of the five goals aiding in their 8-to-7 score. Stockton maintained their lead throughout the rest of the match, expanding their gap with 10 minutes and 55 seconds left in the 4th quarter of the game. Grace Lynch, Meghan Pellegrino, and Giordano solidified the win by each scoring a goal toward the end of the match. Women’s Lacrosse is off to a great start and will have home-field advantage on 3/13 and 3/15 against DeSales and New Paltz University.
