Last Tuesday, the women’s volleyball team played Ramapo on their turf. Freshman Camille De La Torre (#18) started off the match with a kill perfectly placed in the deep corner. From there, the Ospreys maintained momentum, taking the first set (25-10). In the second set, Ramapo started to find their rhythm until the tandem block by Jaylah Rolle (#10) and Emma Capriglione (#17) shut them down. The perseverance carried on into the third set, resulting in a dominating win over Ramapo (3-0).
Senior captain Haley Green played a vital role in Tuesday night’s game, leading the team in kills, with 14 total. The team captain explained the team’s mindset going into the game. “We came into the game knowing that as a team we had to come out of the gate with a lot of excitement and energy,” Green stated. The outside hitter continued to explain how the team overcame adversity by utilizing the “encouragement [from the team and visiting fans] every point to bring the momentum back on our side.”
The Ospreys will be playing at William Patterson on October 8th at 12pm. On Oct 11th, they will be returning home, playing historic rival Kean.
