Stockton University hosts annual Osprey Ball

Written for The Argo by Victoria Orlowski

On October 7th, 2022, Stockton University closed out the first day of University Weekend with the Osprey Ball. The Osprey Ball is an event put together by SET (Stockton Entertainment Team), the Greek Council, and Student Development. The dance is an annual tradition inviting students and guests aboard The Spirit of Philadelphia for a night of escape and community.

Aboard The Spirit of Philadelphia in Penns Landing, students were provided a buffet, cash bar, DJ, and gorgeous views of the harbor. Transportation was provided complimentary of the university.

The evening began with a buffet with a limited selection. Students in formal attire mingled amongst each other as tables were close together providing ample opportunity for conversation.

Following the dinner, students moved out onto the decks as the boat embarked farther out into the water. The three-level ship offered different getaways for students. The top deck provided a lounge area which was a place of great popularity in the evening. It provided a great view of the city and the Benjamin Franklin bridge, prompting many photo opportunities.

The evening was then closed out with students taking charge of the music playing and moving towards the dance floor. Everyone came together to form a ring in the middle of the floor as they proceeded to hype up anyone who chose to dance at the center. Everyone was all smiles as they let loose.
