Shahyan Abraham, a senior at Stockton University, was named this week’s Field Athlete of the week. Abraham has had a phenomenal season so far, placing 1st in the weight throw and 2nd in the shot put at the TCNJ Winter Open. She continued to perform with her peers at the Ursinus Bow Tie Invitational, earning 1st in the shot put and 2nd in the weight throw. The talented athlete then returned to TCNJ for their Indoor Invitational and placed in the top 5 for both events, with weight throw in 2nd and 5th in shot put.

Just from the first few meets, it looks like this could be another successful season for Abraham. In 2022, she won the shot put NJAC title and finished the year with another shot put in the outdoor season. Could she possibly be a rising Hall of Famer? If Abraham utilizes her COVID year, she could add to her accomplishments, including breaking the record by Jessica Cacamo in 2014.
