Stockton hosts fifth annual Ospreys Give

On October 12th and 13th, 2022, Stockton held its annual day of giving, with this year’s theme being “Give for Good.” The target for this year’s day of giving was to have at least 750 donors donate to Stockton and its programs. Stockton’s Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff to the President, Susan Davenport, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Leamor Kahanov, and Vice President for University Advancement and Executive Director of the University Foundation, Dan Nugent were all present at the event. Chick-fil-A handed out free chicken sandwiches to attendees of the event as part of their support to Ospreys give.

In front of the Campus Center’s Event room, people interested in donating could donate and win a gift or decide where a particular donation could be allocated once they donated at least $5. At about 1:00 p.m. on October 12th, clubs, Stockton’s athletic teams, staff, and so on gathered to play games and allocate funds to certain university programs.

The first game required participants to eat a cookie without touching it, and the winner of the game decided to allocate $100 to Men’s soccer. The next game was the TALONS egg toss, and the winner decided to allocate $100 to Stockton cheerleaders.

Nugent, who is also the Executive Director of Stockton Foundation, gave a brief remark after the second game and stated that the Foundation is a non-profit organization and that more than a million dollars are going out this year. He further added that the foundation supports academic programs, athletics, student clubs, and organizations as well as students who are facing emergency situations.

After Nugent’s speech, the ‘Flip cup challenge’ was held between students and staff, followed by a presentation by the All-Starz dance team. Thereafter, the ‘Tilt a cup’ game was held and Kahanov participated in the game.

On the second day of Ospreys give, free donuts and coffee were made available in the Campus Center to encourage students, staff, and friends to participate in the event. As of now, over $150,000 has been donated and people are still welcome to give. The giving campaign ends at 6PM EDT on October, 17th 2022.

The annual day of giving is an annual event at Stockton and this year was the fifth edition of Osprey gives.
