The Foosers keep kicking it in the Campus Center

Written for The Argo by Andrew Leeds

If you have ever walked in the Campus Center in Galloway over by the Dunkin Donuts, you may have noticed the pair of Foosball tables over in the Campus Center Game Room. What you may not have known, however, is that Stockton actually has an organized club that meets up to play foosball once a week known as The Foosers.

The Foosers meet every Tuesday from 2:30-3:30 p.m. over at the tables during the Fall semester. Here they all spend the hour socializing and having a good time playing and promoting the game of foosball. There are currently 17 members and counting in the club, including their public representative Tyler Bolich.

“I was actually one of the founding members,” said Bolich. “A couple of my friends and I had an appreciation for foosball and wanted to share it with everyone, so we made the Stockton Foosers.”

Not only does the club link up once a week for their normal club meetings, but they also sometimes hold tournaments. These competitions are open for everyone to join with possible prizes to be won.

When asked about the tournaments, Bolich said, “We host tournaments once or twice a semester. Anyone can join for free, and we have prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. There is also free food and beverages. We’re actually hosting our first tournament this Wednesday on November 10, and we encourage everyone to come join us at 6 p.m. in the campus center game room for a really fun time.”

“We welcome anyone and everyone to come to the foosball club every Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. You don’t have to be super good at foosball, either,” Bolich continued. “We have a wide range of players, from very competitive to totally casual. Anyone will have a good time in a friendly and relaxed environment, just playing games and making friends.”
