Students Comm together for Meet & Greet

Written for The Argo by Celaena Scheel

Stockton University Communication students and faculty gathered in the C-D Atrium on the evening of September 23, 2021 for a meet-and-greet to kick off the semester. Students were encouraged to meet with each other and connect with prospective internship opportunities such as The Press of Atlantic City and Stories of Atlantic City.

Faculty and staff kept the event entertaining with The Beatles-themed Kahoot, along with snacks and drinks.

Returning students like Matt Bryk enjoyed the event and got to see professors they had not seen in person due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “The event is wonderful so far!” said Bryk. “I’m having a good time, and people are seeming to mingle. But, I do miss Dr. Morris, free Dr. Morris!”

Robbie Rebenski, a transfer student from OCCC, spoke with the Society of Professional Journalists table and said, “I felt very comfortable meeting students and staff with the same interests as me. They really help you out as much as possible!”

The event ended on a high note with Kahoot winner Jack E. celebrating among friends, and students leaving with new connections and business cards in hand.
