This Saturday, Jan. 28, Stockton’s track and field teams competed at Haverford College’s McElligott Invitational. The teams enjoyed widespread success in the invitational, beating personal records and earning 1st place in many events.

In women’s field, Shahyan Abraham earned first place in the weighted throw, earning Stockton 10pts. She hit 16.95m, 1.15 meters greater than her opponent from Rowan, Emily Galvin. Placing in the top 5 in her field events is quite the norm for Abraham since she placed 2nd in the TCNJ Lions Indoor Invitational. Her teammate, Kaitlyn Vervier, got another first-place win for Stockton in the High Jump. This was Vervier’s first competition win and personal best of 1.57m. Khristina Washington placed 2nd in the Women’s Long Jump, reaching 5.20m. Madison Fey also earned second in the Pole Vault, stretching over 2.90m.
As for men’s field, Connor Wright, Trevone Green, and Eduardo Ruiz-Guiseppi got a sweep in the Men’s Long Jump, placing 1st through 3rd. In the Men’s Triple Jump, Wright and Green placed again, earning 1st and 2nd place, respectively. Joseph Morales bested his contender Luke Gnospelius in accuracy as both hit 4.40m, earning him 1st place.
In women’s track, Freshman Emma Conroy landed 1st place in the 400m, getting a time of 1:00.69. Another freshman, Kayla Kass, placed 1st in the 800m with a time of 2:22.22.
Men’s track enjoyed similar success, with Carson Latham placing 1st in the Men’s 60m with a time of 7.04 sec, and 2nd in the 200m with 23.13 sec. Erik Ackerman ran a 4:20.10 mile, earning himself 1st place.
