As the winter season approaches, fans of Stockton’s basketball teams look forward to the 2022-23 season. The Men’s Basketball team has had a history of successful seasons, making six NCAA appearances in the past 10 years. After making it to the NCAA Final Four last year, some within the Stockton community believe that the team has a great chance of doing it again this year.
DJ Campbell, the senior guard, has been starting all three years playing for the Ospreys. He was named NJAC Rookie of the Year after his first season, and last year earned the titles of NJAC Player of the Year and NABC District 4 Player of the Year. This player has played a vital role in his team, and fans look forward to seeing him play in the coming season.
Another outstanding player on the roster is Kyion Flanders. Since his freshman year, he has seen time on the court, so having his leadership for this team will be key. Flanders remarks, “Along with contributing on the court, I hope to develop more of a leadership role. With being a senior and having the experience, I think I can help our newer players prepare for what’s coming.”
The Ospreys will be away this weekend at the Penn State Harrisburg Tip-Off Tournament, but look out for their first home game versus long-time rival Rowan, on November 22nd at 7:30p.m. This will be an interesting match since Stockton stole the title of NJAC champions the year prior.
