On Thursday, October 20th, 2022, the Theta Omega chapter of the Sigma Gamma Rho sorority hosted a “Night in with the Poodles”, their first event of the Fall 2022 semester, to support current sisters of the chapter and connect with new and continuing students of Stockton. The event was a pajama party where invitees came in appropriate sleepwear and got to know the sisters by conversing with them, playing all sorts of card and board games, and eating pizza and other snacks.

That night, members welcomed their invitees and shared their experiences and stories with them as they drank soda and ate snack bags. It was intended to be a very relaxing, enjoyable moment where students could unwind and close off their Thursday with a sigh of relief.

Dr. Zupenda Davis-Shine, a member of Sigma Gamma Rho since the Spring of 1993, hoped that this event would let her connect with the new student body. “I wanted to get to meet other Stockton students and just hang out and have fun. We’re showing our sisterhood, we have our pajamas on, we’re playing games— so it’s just a good time, to have fun and fellowship,” said Davis-Shine.
