Stockton welcomes Phi Mu Delta to Greek Life community

Attention all Greek Life! This Fall, Stockton University will be welcoming Fraternity Phi Mu Delta, a group that strives to provide positive experiences for today’s college man. Phi Mu is redefining fraternities by encouraging their members to reach high personal standards; morally, mentally and spiritually, as well as cultivating a culture of lifelong civic engagement and fellowship.

Founded on March 1, 1918, PMD values democracy, service and brotherhood. PMD seeks outstanding and dedicated men that are committed to bettering themselves and their communities, men who want to be challenged and to create a legacy that future students at Stockton will enjoy.

For a few years, Stockton has been seeking new Interfraternity Councils to campus. The university dedicated a committee to hear from various organizations interested in joining campus. The committee vetted these organizations based on their values of inclusivity, membership benefits, and community impact.

PMD rose above other organizations due to their inclusive practices, civic engagement and fellowship. In a recent Osprey Hub Article, Joe Thompson, Stockton’s Fraternity and Sorority Life Advisor, stated “[PMD] is the first fraternity to explicitly welcome men of any race or religion to join. Headquartered just an hour away in Haddon Township, the fraternity will begin seeking interest immediately.”

Founding member, Christopher Melillo, said that he is happy to be learning and connecting with the campus community. “I really find myself in their values of inclusivity, and I think that PMD is an excellent fit for our campus,” said Melillo. “We are just getting started, we are excited, and we are hoping to expand and find new members as the semester continues on!”

Currently, PMD is seeking new members through virtual interviews and planning to hold an interest meeting by the end of the semester. “Events will be determined by the growth of the fraternity and the pandemic,” added Melillo.
