GALLOWAY, N.J. — On Tuesday, October 13. from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., Stockton’s Active Minds Club hosted the IMALIVE mental health awareness fair, which brought mental health games, fact-or-fiction situations, and “share a secret” stations to the Campus Center lobby. The Stockton Active Minds club partnered with Campus Care, a grant-funded program that brings mental health wellness to colleges across New Jersey. Campus Care staff noted that they “offer services to 50 different schools and directly partner with IMALIVE”.

IMALIVE is a traveling mental health fair that partners with companies such as Campus Care to educate the public about warning signs, suicide prevention, and overall awareness of mental illnesses. Along with hosting traveling mental health fairs such as this, they “‘offer care sessions in regards to just different topics that are areas of concern for students'”.

Most of their mental health resources are based on relevant student survey results about top mental health concerns.
This way students are getting the most highly updated resources firsthand. Along with the helpful resources and ongoing care, the number one thing that Campus Cares recommends to students who may be struggling is to always remember that you are never alone and help is always available. This at its core means that no one, no matter the struggle, needs to fight alone.
Campus Care also shared that if you or someone you know is struggling but does not know where to go for specific help, that going to your local counseling center, whether that be at a health facility or school centers, is the first step to getting better.

Additionally, 988, the suicide prevention and crisis hotline, is always active to not only reserved for suicidal situations. Anyone in need of support or just needs someone to reach out to, is able to utilize the hotline.
Stockton’s Active Minds club shows through this event that mental health is not an overwhelming situation to be afraid of, but a necessary topic that everyone can relate to.
