International Women’s Day celebrates women on campus and beyond

Celebrate International Women’s Day on Tuesday, March 8 at several campus events focused on women’s achievements and gender equality. These events are great opportunities for networking and celebrating with other women on campus and hearing inspiring success stories all day long.

Events will kick off at 10:30 in the Campus Center Grand Hall with a Women in STEM Panel, followed by an Inspirational Women Leaders Open Mic at 12:30.

There will also be a Salary Negotiation Workshop at 2:30 p.m. in the Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Center in F-103. This workshop will focus on the gender wage gap and inform attendees on how to negotiate for a fair salary, an issue which many women in the workplace face.

Additionally, informational tabling about women’s issues will be taking place throughout the day in the Campus Center Grand Hall.

The events are sponsored by the Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Center; Career Education and Development; and Student Transition Programs.

Following these events, join the Argo at 4:30 p.m. in the CC Organization Conference Room 212D to celebrate women in journalism with a presentation from the editorial team.
