One of the best ways to utilize Handshake is by joining a “Career Community” at Stockton. There are seven Career Communities, which include Arts, Entertainment, & Communication; Business, Hospitality & Tourism; Education; Healthcare & Medicine; Public & Social Services and Law; Science, Technology and Engineering, and Mathematics; and Undecided. Being a part of a Career Community can help you connect with advisors, faculty, alumni, and employers in your field of interest!

To join a Career Community:

1. Login to your Handshake account.
2. Click on your name in the top right hand corner. Select “Career Interests” from the list of options.
3. Fill in your career interests to get the most personalized experience on Handshake, and then select which Career Community you’d like to join.
4. Click “Save My Career Interests,” and you’re all set!
