Galloway, N.J.- On Saturday afternoon, Stockton University’s women’s soccer team (11-4-3, 5-1-2) secured a close victory against William Patterson (7-8-0, 2-6-0). The match started slowly with both teams trying to control the midfield.
Both teams had the same number of shots taken with 6 each, but Stockton had more shots on goal with 4, compared to Williams Patterson with 2. Stockton goalkeeper Kylee Sullivan posted two saves during the game.
Stockton University’s defense tightened in the final six minutes of regulation and made the only goal of the match stand up for the 1-0 win. Susan Porambo scored off her own rebound, to secure a goal for the second straight game to give the Ospreys the victory over William Patterson.
Stockton will play their final regular-season match against #1 and unbeaten The College of New Jersey on Wednesday night. The Lions are ranked first nationally by the United Soccer Coaches and the game will be played in Ewing, NJ and is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
