Stockton Athletics Sweeps the Weekend with Big Wins and Strong Performances

Stockton University Athletics had a successful weekend, marked by important wins, senior day celebrations, and impressive individual performances. As winter postseason approaches and spring sports begin, the Ospreys continue to build momentum.

Men’s Lacrosse Kicks Off Home Season with a Statement Win

Stockton Men’s Lacrosse opened its home schedule against Misericordia University on Saturday, February 14, delivering a strong offensive performance in a 17-4 victory.

Josh Graham, Colin Wagner, and Alex DeLierre each scored four goals to lead the offense. Jack Vandegrift added two goals, while Gage Parker and Jimmy Wasko each contributed one. Several freshmen made their debuts, providing additional scoring opportunities.

The Ospreys’ strong start and energy show their potential for a strong, successful season.

Basketball Teams Achieve Senior Day Doubleheader Sweep Against Ramapo

Stockton hosted a basketball doubleheader against Ramapo College, celebrating senior day for both teams and earning two wins.

In the first game, the Stockton Women’s Basketball team defeated Ramapo 55-40. After a slow start, the Ospreys took control for the rest of the game. Before tip-off, five seniors were honored: Grace Speer, Haleigh Schafer, Imene Fathi, ChiChi Wokocha, and Lauren Winat.

Freshman Zemirah Enalls led with a double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 17 rebounds. Senior Imene Fathi added 13 points, while Grace Speer and Haleigh Schafer combined for seven rebounds and 13 points. Seven players scored, highlighting the team’s depth and balance.

The win extended Stockton’s winning streak to five games and placed them in third position in the NJAC standings with one regular-season game remaining.

In the second game, Stockton Men’s Basketball defeated the Roadrunners 82-52, marking an important win after their recent loss to Rutgers-Camden.

Stockton honored seniors Colin Raimann and Tayvon Gaither before the game. After a close start, the Ospreys led by 11 points at halftime and expanded their lead in the second half to secure a 30-point victory.

Ten Stockton players scored. Junior Justin Harper led with 23 points, while sophomore Charlie Bell and senior Tayvon Gaither each added 15. Raimann contributed five points. Sophomore Jahmir Payoute led the team with 13 rebounds and added four points.

With this win, Stockton remained third in the NJAC standings, with one regular-season game left.

Both teams will head to Rowan University for their last regular-season game.

Track and Field at the Widener Classic

Stockton’s Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field teams competed at the Widener Classic this past weekend, delivering several strong performances ahead of the NJAC Championships.

For the men, Ahmad Fogg secured his fourth indoor event win, finishing first in the long jump with a mark of 7.19m. Conor Clifford placed sixth in the 800m with a personal best of 1:55.46. Freshman Kyle Greenleaf completed the 400m in ninth place, also setting a personal best at 50.13 seconds. Johnathan Holden tied for ninth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.62 seconds.

On the women’s side, Elaina Styer set a personal best in the 60m hurdles prelims at 8.83 seconds, ranking 14th in Division III. She also finished third in the high jump with a mark of 1.60m. Kayla Kass took seventh in the 800m with a time of 2:18.29.

Stockton track and field will return to the Ott Center at the University of Pennsylvania for the NJAC Championships on February 21-22.
