As the Fall 2025 semester closes, the Student Senate hosted a public meeting to recap the events, news, and upcoming proceedings on November 25, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. in the Board of Trustee Room.

Pre-Thanksgiving, The Student Senate Executive Board and Board of Trustees Student Representative went to Georgia to attend the National Conference for Student Leadership (NCSA), Student Development, Campus Religious Council and Hillel hosted the Student Faculty Staff Dinner, and the Campus Safety Walk.

Dr. Martha “Marty” Wygmans was appointed as Vice President for Student Affairs. She will begin her role on January 5th, 2026, as announcer per Student Senate Vice President, Hunter Pico.

Academic Affairs Chair, Nana Amma Otoo, spoke with the Provost and they plan to find ways to improve the academic experience of course registration and course offerings. The Student Senate has arranged a Food Drive from December 1-10. Donations, with the receipt, can be dropped off at Student Development from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m and will be given to the Osprey Pantry to help combat student food insecurity.

As for campus updates, the Diversity and Inclusion Committee will undergo a new committee name change. Over the winter break, Facilities will conduct a full deep clean across campus, including the North Fields. New bathrooms have been installed, several teams will be receiving new storage sheds and in addition, new picnic areas are being added. The Spirit Team is also working with the Game Day Task Force to bring more engagement to athletic events through halftime and timeout programming, expanded food access, and upgraded video capabilities. 

Concluding the meeting were executive board members of Stockton Disney Association, who requested funding to go to Disney in order to help with “Give Around the World”, which fuels a week-long vacation for kids and their families on Disney property to go to different parks to help make their wishes come true. Their request was fulfilled by Senate. 

The December Student Senate full public meeting will occur December 9, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. in the Board of Trustees room.
