Stockton University’s 2024–25 athletic year was marked by exceptional performances, with athletes across various sports setting new records and achieving significant milestones.
Baseball: Nitti’s Record-Breaking Season
Senior Jordan Nitti became Stockton’s all-time leader in career hits, surpassing the previous record with his 193rd hit during a doubleheader at Thunder Ballpark. He also reached the 100-RBI milestone, becoming just the fourth Osprey to do so.
Women’s Lacrosse: Milestones Achieved
The women’s lacrosse team saw several players reach significant milestones: Gina Marotta became the sixth Osprey to collect 100 ground balls. Isabella Marinello reached 100 career points in a win over Drew University and set the record for the most points and goals in a single game. Margot Costello set the school record for career caused turnovers.
Softball: Tramp’s Strikeout Milestone
Pitcher Nerina Tramp became the third pitcher in program history to record 400 career strikeouts, achieving this milestone during a game against Rutgers-Newark.
Basketball: Angelov’s Record Performance
While DJ Campbell broke Stockton’s all-time scoring record last season with 2,178 points, Martin Anguelov set a new single-game scoring record this season, highlighting the team’s continued excellence.
Track & Field: Records on the Track
Indoor season highlights include Elaina Styer setting a new school record in the pentathlon with 3,628 points. Carson Latham set indoor records in the 60m (6.90 seconds) and 200m (21.86 seconds). Outdoor season highlights include Kayla Kass running 2:07.13 in the 800m, setting a new school record, while Emma Petrolia broke her own 400m hurdles record with a time of 1:02.07. Amanda McNally also set a new program record in the 1000m run with a time of 3:01.34.
The women’s 4×800 relay (Rachel Hayes, Maddy Valasek, Amanda McNally, and Kass), 4×400 relay (Kass, Kayla Sullivan, Petrolia, and Emma Conroy), and the 4x100m relay (Isabel Duval, Adrienne Austin, Cameron Radcliffe, and Marlie DePalma) all broke school records.
Looking Ahead
As the season wraps up, Stockton’s athletes and coaching staff have plenty to be proud of. The 2024–25 year will be remembered as one of the most successful and historic campaigns in school history. With so much young talent returning, the Ospreys are primed to soar even higher next year.
