The “Let’s Get Hooked” event, hosted by the Stockton Hospitality Society and the Stockton Entertainment Team, took place on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 6 p.m.-8:15 p.m. Students experienced “The HOOK” show at Caesars in Atlantic City, NJ and had the opportunity to see a different side of the hospitality industry first hand.

Transportation was provided from both Galloway and Atlantic City campuses to the show. Prior to the main event, students engaged in a Q&A with Sales and Marketing Manager of “The HOOK,” Ryan Gerace, to discuss behind the scenes of the show and what it is like to work on a marketing team. Students were also given an inside look at the Superfrico restaurant in Caesars, connected to the revamped Warner Theater where The HOOK takes place.

“I wanted to show students a different side of hospitality than many often see,” stated Alexander Eckmeder, Co-president of the Stockton Hospitality Society and a member of SET. “There is more out there than just restaurants, casinos, and hotels. There’s fun, bright, and happy parts of the industry that we often forget about. A show like this also has a fascinating background and brand image that can show that creativity can create some amazing experiences.”

The HOOK pays homage to Atlantic City’s history of live entertainment, featuring aerial and acrobatic acts accompanied with a comedic and upbeat, nautical storyline. The show is created by Spiegelworld theater company, dedicated to bringing larger-than-life shows and experiences to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Stockton University students receive a student discount and can purchase tickets to “The HOOK” year-round for $25. The show is recommended for audiences 18+.

“The show was definitely a unique, thrilling experience, as all different acts performed,” stated Allie Agostino, a student audience member. “ From contortions to acrobatics, it was a great and fun time.”
