On February 20, 2025, Stockton University hosted a panel entitled “Publishing in the 21st Century,” featuring five alumni who discussed their career journeys after attending the school. Alexander Casillas, Rebecca Rodriguez, Sara Dudo, Raymond Dudo, and Eryn Genova participated in the panel, where they shared how their careers developed and how Stockton played a significant role in guiding them to their current positions.
Alexander Casillas, who earned degrees in literature, creative writing, philosophy, and religion from Stockton, has become an author, publisher, and writer. When asked how he felt this panel would impact Stockton students, he replied, “these types of events helped me see what my future might be after school.” The panelists continued to discuss the opportunities Stockton provided them, which helped them achieve successful careers.
Eryn Genova, graduate of Stockton University in 2020 and English teacher at Glassboro High School, discussed her career journey and many ways Stockton provided her the resources to become successful. Rebecca Rodriguez, Assistant Director of the Sara & Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center at Stockton, graduated in 2015 as a Literature major with a Holocaust and Genocide Studies minor. She later earned a Master of Arts in Writing from Rowan University and is currently working on two book projects for the Center.
Sara Dudo, whose poetry has been published in journals like the “Iowa Review” and “Cincinnati Review,” stated during the panel, “I don’t think I would be able to do any of that without Stockton.” Raymond Dudo, who graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature and a minor in Writing. Dudo graduated again in 2021 after pursuing an education degree, as he is now a teacher of literature at St. Augustine Preparatory School. He shared, “in my classroom, all the things I picked up at Stockton, I’m able to apply in there.”
The panel allowed students to learn about potential career paths alumni have pursued and how opportunities at Stockton helped these panelists become successful.
