The Spring Semester is upon the Ospreys, with returning and new students alike stepping foot on campus. To bring some warmth to the snowy weather, which was cold enough to freeze Lake Fred for an ice hockey game, the Student Transition Programs staff planned a small but fun photoshoot for the community to join. Students and staff gathered in the Campus Center Grand Hall with the school mascot, Talon, to celebrate Stockton Spirit and maintain a positive outlook on the new semester and year ahead.

The staff took many group pictures with Talon, as well as a couple of videos for Stockton’s socials — some of which contained students shouting “Go Stockton!” and “Amp up your Stockton Spirit!” There were even some students that joined in last-minute upon seeing the crowd in the Campus Center.
Most had their Stockton swag on for the shoot, sporting sweatshirts, sweatpants, hats, and colors that proudly represented the university. Many familiar faces of Stockton’s undergrad community appeared, including Student Senators, members of the Stockton Entertainment Team, and even some members of the Greek life community.
Candace Mitchell, one of the coordinators for the photoshoot, stated that the event was to “launch a new initiative that starts this Spring, called Stockton AMP: to Activate and Motivate Pride on campus.” The shoot is just the start of a series of events Stockton has planned, all of which enable students to “celebrate the Stockton experience.”
An entire schedule of AMP events geared towards faculty, staff, and students are scheduled for the spring, in addition to the annual and semestral events like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service and Late Night Breakfast. “So many students, alumni, and faculty are already proud of the Stockton experience, so this is just an intentional way to shine a light on it and allow for that to be visible to everyone around us,” Mitchell concluded.
