Stockton University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams took on conference rivals The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) on Wednesday, December 4, and William Paterson University on Saturday, December 7 in an eventful week of basketball.

Women’s Basketball: Battling Through Adversity

The Ospreys’ women’s team faced two tough matchups, showing grit and determination despite coming up short in both contests.

Wednesday, December 4: TCNJ 68, Stockton 52
Stockton played hard but fell to TCNJ, who maintained their lead throughout the game. ChiChi Wokocha led the Ospreys with 11 points and six rebounds, while Skylar Fowlkes added nine points. Freshman Aiyonna Alexander made an impact off the bench, scoring eight points in just 14 minutes. However, TCNJ’s sharp shooting proved to be the difference.

Saturday, December 7: William Paterson 53, Stockton 48
In a nail-biting contest, Stockton narrowly lost to William Paterson, 53-48. Imene Fathi paced the Ospreys with a game-high 15 points, keeping Stockton in contention until the final moments. Despite their best efforts, the Pioneers pulled away late, scoring 10 of the last 15 points to seal the win.

Men’s Basketball: Dominant Performances

Stockton’s men’s team had a stellar week, showcasing their firepower and defensive prowess in back-to-back victories.

Wednesday, December 4: Stockton 105, TCNJ 99
In a thrilling shootout, the Ospreys edged out TCNJ 105-99. Martin Anguelov delivered a historic performance, setting a school record with 45 points. Eriq Campbell chipped in 17 points, while Devon Johnson added 15 to fuel Stockton’s second-half comeback. After trailing by one at halftime, the Ospreys surged ahead in the final minutes to claim the win.

Saturday, December 7: Stockton 81, William Paterson 51
Stockton followed up with a commanding 81-51 victory over William Paterson, dominating from start to finish. EJ Matthews-Spratley led the charge with 22 points, while freshman Logan McKee contributed 15. The Ospreys’ stifling defense set the tone, holding the Pioneers scoreless for the first 9:15 of play, and their offensive efficiency kept them in control throughout.
