SET hosts “Light the Night” candle making in campus center

From 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 the Stockton Entertainment Team, or SET, helped to host the event, “Light the Night.” This workshop allowed students who lived on campus and commuters to join together for a night of candle crafting, where participants viewed a simplified version of the candle making process.

The process included different types of wax and fragrances to make their own miniature candles. To create a candle, everybody picked the type of wax, what fragrance to use, and how it all transforms into a beautiful, personal craft. The night was full of people getting together and creativity.

The event was popular among the Stockton community as the line was wrapped around the coffee house. People came with groups of friends and many were excited to make the candles. A senior who participated in the event had only good things to say about it: “The fragrances smelled amazing and it was nice to see an event that was different from most other
events held on campus.” Along with this participant’s statement, upon entering the event area, it was evident that people took pride in choosing the fragrances to put in their candles. By the end, the candles could be kept for themselves or as gifts for a loved one or friend.
