On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Stockton’s Cannabis Ospreys club held their first large event, CannaFest. CannaFest was a night full of networking, food, and fun, and the Cannabis Ospreys were able to invite many dispensary or cannabis business owners to speak and advertise their businesses. Speakers from AC Leef, CannaSpyGlass, and AC Extract Company all shared their insights of the industry specifically in Atlantic City, a city full of dispensaries and culture. 

The Cannabis Ospreys were also selling shirts and stickers, all proceeds going back to the club so more events like CannaFest can be held in the future. These events allow students wanting to join the cannabis industry the opportunity to forge connections for the future and receive guidance on how the industry runs. 

The Cannabis Ospreys sent out an email the following day expressing appreciation for all that attended, thanking everyone for showing their support and making the event a success. The Cannabis Ospreys will continue to hold educational and networking events over the coming semesters, their first general board meeting is taking place on Thursday, November 21 at 2:30 p.m. in Meeting Room One of the Galloway Campus Center: all are welcome to attend and voice any suggestions. The club is also collecting donations for the local food bank and shelters for people in need.

“So much hard work went into this event and we were so glad that it turned out to be as successful as it did! The E-Board is so grateful for the sponsors, speakers, and students who came and made this event happen!” said Jecce Harriott, social media officer for the club.
