The Officer of Career Education and Development hosted its Fall 2024 Career and Internship Fair on Thursday, October 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Sports Center. The fair, which is held every semester, serves as an opportunity for students, alumni, and other community members to engage with employers, discover different career paths, and move closer to achieving their career aspirations. The fair showcased a variety of organizations spanning across sectors offering students an array of options including full-time roles, internships, volunteering opportunities, and networking.

The event drew employers, from industries like finance and healthcare to the technology and government sectors, as well as the social services field. Among some of the organizations that attended the fair are AtlantiCare, Atlantic City Police Department, Bloomberg, Bridge Counseling Services, Bridgeton Public Schools, Caesars Entertainment Inc., Gaming Laboratories International, Hackensack Meridian Health, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, Kramer Beverage, New Jersey Courts, OceanFirst Bank, Peace Corps, Renault Winery, Simon & Schuster, Spring Oak Senior Living, Spencer’s Spirit, and more. It is important to note that Stockton Graduate Admissions, Stockton Atlantic City Campus Operations, Stockton Police Department, and the Stockton Washington Internship Program were also present at the fair.
The Office of Career Education and Development has been providing resources to assist students in getting ready, for the fair. These offerings include the resume rush, career success studio, and even the Argo’s weekly career content has proven to be a great resource for students. By utilizing these services, the students can boost their self-assurance and be better prepared to showcase themselves in a manner to potential employers. The Career and Education Center advises students to be proactive by researching participating companies and refining their elevator pitch so they can maximize their opportunities, at the fair.

At the fair, Anthony J. Digneo, the President of Digneo Engineering described the firm as “a company that offers geotechnical engineering services, materials testing and laboratory services and construction phase services alike and the firm is looking to hire anyone with interest in that kind of field.” Similarly, the representative of VirtuaHealth said that the firm has “a culture of WE and that makes them unique.”
The event also allowed students to connect with Stockton graduates employed in fields of work. Many of these alumni make regular appearances, on campus to hire for their companies and share guidance with students. This group of students play a role in enhancing the university’s connections, to the workforce and offered firsthand tips on managing career paths.
