Career Center hosts Resume Rush in preparation for the Career and Internship Fair

On Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10, The Career Education and Development Center hosted two days of the Resume Rush. On Thursday, the rush was held in the campus center near the big fire place across from the information desk from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Rebecca Nagy Miller, who was helping run the event, said, “The Resume Rush is where you can sign up to have your resume reviewed by partner employers like South Jersey Industries and Spirit, for specific and general help and addition to the services they provide in the career office.”

The Resume Rush was open to current and alumni Stockton students, providing them with the opportunity to create or revise resumes for future career opportunities. An alumni — Connor Morgan, who received his degree in Computer Information Systems, went to the resume rush looking to spice up his resume as he is starting to apply for jobs within his field. When asked about what the event was like, he stated, “The person who I met with was easy to talk to and he helped point out the small problems with my resume that I honestly would have never noticed.”

The Resume Rush is not only useful for those applying to jobs, but for students whose major requires clinical hours in the following semesters. For education majors, part of the process to completing fieldwork hours is to have a professional resume. There were a bunch of writing tips and example resumes to help with these types of resumes out on the table for anyone interested.

Some of the students who attended the Resume Rush were there in preparation for the upcoming Career Fair on Thursday, October 17, 2024, which be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Sports Center. For those that are interested, this will be open to current and alumni students, and more information can be found on OspreyHub.

Along with the Career Fair, there will be a virtual resume workshop for those that cannot attend in person on November 7 from 6-7 p.m. To attend, feel free to RSVP on OspreyHub.
