On Thursday, September 12, 2024, Stockton University hosted its annual Glow-Up Opportunity Fair, which is an event held in the Campus Center Event Room that introduces students to the high-impact practice opportunities that are available such as internships, service-learning, leadership, and research opportunities. The two hour event had a large turnout with over twenty organizations that were tabling, and students explored the room as there were brochures and flyers everywhere. They learned about Greek life, the Office of Student Development, becoming a Residential Assistant or an Admissions Ambassador, studying abroad, and much more.

The Glow-Up Opportunity Fair simultaneously hosted “Osprey Fred Talks,” which were ten minute testimonials from students and graduates about their experiences with the opportunities being promoted. They discussed researches, internships, and their experience with the application process and responsibilities in the role.
Among the 20 or more tables that were present at the fair was Stockton’s chapter of Circle K, a service based organization. They introduced who they were and what their mission was. Circle K works diligently to spread the impact of community service on campus and off. They volunteer daily with different activities hosted in different locations, such as the Spring Village Senior Center and the South Jersey Horse Rescue.

Another organization that was tabling was the Student Alumni Association, an organization that works to help foster a relationship between current students and alumni, as well as build school spirit, honor Stockton traditions, and promote Philanthropy. SAA is actively looking to recruit new members to join their organization. Members serve as ambassadors for University Advancement and have the unique opportunity to network with alumni, serve as official hosts for exclusive Stockton events such as the Annual Gala & Golf Classic, as well as create outstanding programming for fellow students.
Many other Stockton resources were seen tabling at Thursday’s event. This includes the Multicultural Center, which promotes a sense of belonging for diverse groups of students, and the First Ospreys Club, which is a retention initiative that helps connect first-generation students with each other to build community and covers several professional development topics such as resumes and internships.
The hosts closed the night’s fair with a raffle for students to win Stockton University merchandise.
