In a busy week of sports action, Stockton University’s athletic prowess has been on full display, with standout performances across various disciplines. From the diamond to the lacrosse field, the Ospreys have showcased their talent and determination, earning accolades and victories along the way.

Baseball Brilliance

Evan Bresnen, an Allentown native and a graduate of Steinert High School, emerged as a beacon of success for the Stockton baseball team. Bresnen’s remarkable performance earned him the prestigious title of NJAC Player of the Week. Batting an impressive .538, he led the team with six RBI and tied for the team lead with seven hits, contributing significantly to the team’s 2-1 week. Not only did Bresnen excel offensively, but he also displayed prowess in defense, boasting a flawless fielding percentage on 16 defensive chances. Alongside Bresnen, players like Tony Gatti and Nick Avagnano showcased their batting prowess, contributing to Stockton’s recent victories.

Lacrosse Legends

In the realm of lacrosse, Reegan Capozzoli spearheaded the charge for the men’s team, netting five goals in two games. Capozzoli’s stellar performance not only earned him recognition but also propelled the team forward. On the women’s side, Brianna Robinson’s standout four-goal performance highlighted Stockton’s dominance on the lacrosse field. With contributions from players like Robinson, Mary Meduri, and Come by your side Madison MacGillivray, the women’s lacrosse team secured an emphatic 18-0 victory over Eastern University.

Softball Success

The softball team continued their winning ways, boasting a 3-1 record for the week. Alexa Panagopoylos led the charge with her impressive batting average of .545, along with two home runs and five RBI. Nerina Tramp’s stellar pitching performance, including a career-high 15 strikeouts against Montclair, further solidified Stockton’s dominance on the diamond.

Tennis Triumphs

Sophia Pasquale showcased her prowess on the tennis court, earning the title of NJAC Player of the Week. Alongside her partner Kierstyn Fenimore, Pasquale secured a resounding 8-0 shutout in doubles play, setting the tone for Stockton’s comprehensive 9-0 victory over FDU-Florham.

Track and Field Excellence

Stockton’s track and field athletes left their mark at the Osprey Open, with notable performances from Emma Petrolia and Gavin Lum. Petrolia’s victory in the long jump and Lum’s dual triumphs in the pole vault and 110m hurdles showcased the depth of talent within the program.
