The 14th annual Woodstockton concert at Stockton University was held at the Big Blue Gym on Tuesday, April 2. Hundreds of students filled the area, excitedly waiting for young rapper, NLE Choppa to perform at this year’s concert. At approximately 8 p.m., the show began with the student opener band, Gecko Roamin’. The young band performed many covers such as “Everybody Talks” By Neon Trees, “Can’t Feel My Face” By The Weeknd, and “Happier Than Ever” By Billie Eilish. The crowd was lively after their performance, and co-headliner Cash Cash followed up by a series of EDM remixes.

Cash Cash entered the stage at 8:30 p.m. The band played several EDM style remixes along with visual illusions on the screen. Many students were hesitant about Cash Cash’s appearance as a co-headliner at Woodstockton XIV. However once the band got on stage, many enjoyed the experience. With several hard beat drops, members of the band throwing “Cash Cash” tapestries into the crowd, and several smoke canons, the students danced and jumped along to their performance. In fact, Cash Cash went overtime as they believed the crowd was having a good time.
Finally, at 9:45 p.m., headliner of Woodstockton XIV, 21-year-old Bryson Potts, also known as NLE Choppa, came out to perform. The crowd was ecstatic as the singer is huge among Gen-Z. Many fans who knew Choppa at the beginning of his career, know his hit song “Shotta Flow”, which Choppa wrote when he was just 16-years-old. He came out in a black & white flannel, along with a heavy diamond necklace and a diamond watch. He soon took all of it off, along with his white tank top, as it was too heavy for him. The crowd went wild as Choppa performed shirtless, just in time for his recently new hit, “Slut Me Out”. Choppa performed many other hit songs including, “Bustdown Rollie Avalanche”, “Shotta Flow 7”, and “Do It Again”. The show ended around 10:45 p.m, the final minutes included Choppa rapping head-to-head with his mother on stage.

When students were asked about their experience after the concert, many believed that the concert was worthwhile. Lacie Armour, a sophomore student, expressed that students were missing out on a memorable experience, “Honestly the whole experience was a ten out of ten, and I would definitely recommend. If you weren’t at the concert you missed out because those that were there had a good time.”
The Stockton Entertainment Team, along with staff, put a lot of hard work into planning and executing the event. Any Student interested in planning & hosting events such as WoodStockton are encouraged to join SET, where they will get the chance to work with others to create memorable events for Stockton students.
