On Thursday February 15, SET kicked off their first general membership meeting since the announcement of our Woodstockton XIV artist, but that’s not all they have in store.
Coming up soon, SET is hosting a few laid-back events in Campus Center Coffee House. “Hot Chocolate and Churro Night” is being held from 7-9 p.m. on February 20 and the following day, February 21, “Paint a Tote Bag Night” will occur from 8-10 p.m. These events are very relaxed and a great opportunity to connect with other students.
For animal-lovers, March has some very exciting events! On March 6th, from 7-8:15 p.m. in Lakeside Town Hall, there will be “Puppy Yoga.” This event will begin with a session of yoga and conclude with the last thirty minutes dedicated to puppy play time. In the TRLC Quad, SET is also bringing back their petting zoo from 1-4p.m. on March 19.
SET also offers an array of culture and social justice-based events. Nearing soon is the Washington DC Bus Trip to the National Museum of African American History and Culture this Saturday, February 24. There are still a few tickets left for students residing in Atlantic City.
If you were not able to secure a ticket for this trip, there are still more cultural events to look forward to. On March 29, SET is collaborating with Stockton’s Asian Student Alliance to host “Phoenix Night Market.” Throughout the night, similar to real night markets that commonly occur in Asia, there will be plenty of cuisine, games, and more. From 6-8 p.m., there will be a performance held in the Campus Center Theatre and afterwards, from 8-10 p.m., there will be a double artist concert in the Campus Center Event Room.
Before concluding the meeting, Troy Edwards, treasurer of SET, announced “The Woodstockton Opener contest is still open…if any of you are interested, please apply!” To apply, students must submit a video of either themself or their band to SET’s email, stocktonentertainmentteam@stockton.edu. The deadline for submissions is tomorrow, February 20.
