On February 13, at 8:30 p.m. in the Campus Center Theatre, Zeta Tau Alpha sorority (NPC, National Panhellenic Council) will be hosting their second annual Love is Blind event. All proceeds from ticket sales as well as raffles within the event will go towards Zeta Tau Alpha’s philanthropy, breast cancer education and awareness. They are partnered with Bright Pink, National Football League, and American Cancer Society.
Love is Blind will have a total of twenty one couples, who are all competing to see who is the best match. Contestants fill out a form prior to actually competing in order to be paired with someone who the judges believe will make a great match. Contestants come from a variety of different backgrounds, including different Greek Fraternities and Sororities on campus.
What makes this event unique is the audience can see who is talking to one another, while the people who are on stage cannot. One of Zeta Tau Alpha’s contestants, Evelyn Caroll, a member of Delta Zeta (NPC, National Panhellenic Council), expressed her excitement to be competing this year. “I’m so excited to be a part of ZTA’s Love is Blind! It’s such a fun event. Honestly I’m more nervous to find out who my date is then being blind folded on stage in front of an audience!” Judges for the event are volunteers who are sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha, and various other philanthropy chairs of other organizations.
Tickets can be purchased through Zeta Tau Alpha’s crowd change, which is linked in their Instagram bio, (@ztastockton). If you would like to purchase tickets, you can click “show more options” then “buy ticket” for purchase through the crowd change. They will be accepting cash for tickets if they receive the contact information of the purchasers. Tickets are five dollars each in advance or seven dollars at the door. Zeta Tau Alpha will be tabling February 12 and 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Campus Center Food Court Information Tables if you would like to purchase a ticket.
