On Thursday, February 8, after various posts on Instagram that disqualified potential musical
guests for WoodStockton 2024, two each day, SET unveiled that the star destined to light up the
stage was NLE Choppa.
SET held an Artist Reveal Party in the Campus Center Coffeehouse from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
It was live streamed so viewers at home could watch the reveal as well. The announcement
sparked mixed reactions both in person and across social media platforms. Enthusiastic
responses included applause as the banner was unveiled from the upper Campus Center railing
and confetti thrown in the air. However, negative comments arose on Instagram with numerous
users commenting “This is a disappointment” and “I will be transferring.”

NLE Choppa has been in the rap game since 2018. Still, he rose to fame when he released his 2019 single “Shotta Flow”, which received platinum certification by the Recording Industry
Association America (RIAA) and peaked within the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. He has made 3 studio albums, 1 EP, 5 mixtapes, 39 singles, and 24 music videos.
His debut studio
album Top Shotta (2020) peaked in the top ten of the US Billboard 200. He has collaborated
with some of the biggest names in rap including Lil Wayne, Lil Baby, and Roddy Rich.
NLE Choppa’s music genre is mostly hip-hop, trap, and drill. Throughout his songs, he often
explores themes of violence, survival, and the realities of street life, drawing from his own
experiences and observation. However his lyrical content has shown signs of evolution over
time, reflecting a journey towards personal growth and spiritual awakening.
His impact on the music industry extends beyond his viral hits. He is praised for his
entrepreneurial spirit, having turned down several record deals to start his own label, No Love
Entertainment (NLE). His name uses the acronym to showcase his commitment to authenticity
and self-expression.
NLE Choppa will perform at the Big Blue Sports Center on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 8 p.m.
Doors open at 7 p.m., and tickets can be purchased at the Campus Center Information Desk.
Stockton students/alumni are $15, faculty and staff are $25, and general admission is $30. For
