On Friday, October 27, The Queer and Transgender People of Color Society hosted their annual fashion show in the Campus Center Event Room. This is their second time hosting this event and their fourth semester as an official club on campus.
The fashion show was MC’ed by the organization’s President Mo Keane, and External Vice President Yamirah Williams. The event featured music by DJ Lonz and was planned in collaboration with the organization’s Eboard as part of their LGBTQ+ History Month programming.

Models featured in the show were encouraged to showcase their personalities and embrace their cultural backgrounds as they took the stage and walked down the red carpet filling the center of the room. The audience was also invited to take part and “claim their moment” and walk on the stage themselves to showcase their creativity. Many danced and strutted, while others enjoyed the food and photo booth complete with colorful feather boas to accessorize. Guests were also invited to take free LGBTQ+-themed pins and were able to purchase club accessories at the door.
The LGBTQ+ History Month programming lineup did not end there, as the Coalition for Women’s Rights, Women’s Gender & Sexuality Center, Stockton Socialists, Los Latinos Unidos, the Stockton Entertainment Team, and the Queer and Transgender of Color Society are all co-hosted ‘Buzz Gworls Halloween Drag Brunch’ on Sunday, October 29th in the Campus Center Event Room. This brunch was hosted by drag queens Kibby Monroe and Demi Gawdess accompanied by drag queens Calliope, Ronnie Marie, and Xiomara.
