Women’s volleyball dominates with fifth straight victory

Stockton University’s Women’s Volleyball team extended their remarkable winning streak to five consecutive victories with an impressive 3-0 triumph over Rutgers-Newark. Their dominant performance not only solidified their overall record at 16-8 but also maintained their unblemished 6-0 record within the NJAC, showcasing their unwavering dominance in the conference.

The star of the match was undoubtedly Camille De La Torre, donning jersey #18, who showcased her prowess with a match-high 10 kills and an exceptional hitting percentage of .471. Following closely behind was Ashley Carkhuff (#22) with 8 kills, and Rileigh Wilson, (#15) who contributed 7 kills. The rest of the team also played their part, with Kate Louer (#9) producing 6 kills with an impressive hitting percentage of .667.

The team’s success was a collaborative effort, with key players like sophomore Regan Mendick (#23) and freshman Kristen Burton (#14) orchestrating the offense, providing 16 and 12 assists, respectively. Aubrey Rentzel (#4) was instrumental with her five aces and seven assists, while Molly Eng in the back row (#3) recorded a match-high of nine digs. Nicole Palmer (#7) made a significant impact during the first set as Stockton surged to a dominant score of 25-8.

The team now heads into a well-deserved weekend break before resuming their NJAC campaign. They will be hosting William Paterson on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. As the winning streak continues, the Stockton Women’s Volleyball team is clearly a force to be reckoned with in the conference.
