In an impressive display of talent, two freshmen from Stockton University showcased their prowess and earned NJAC awards for the week of October 2-8. Brady Bartletta was named NJAC Rookie of the Week in men’s soccer, while McKenna Ritchie of Newark Charter in Delaware secured the NJAC Defensive Player of the Week in volleyball.
Bartletta, who previously claimed the NJAC Defensive Player of the Week on September 11, received his second weekly honor by delivering outstanding performances. He stood strong between the posts, contributing to Stockton’s 2-0 victories over #12 Widener and William Paterson with a total of seven saves and two clean sheets.
Notably, Bartletta stands as a formidable force in the NJAC statistics, ranking second in shutouts (6) and goals against average (0.78), and third in save percentage (.767).
On the volleyball court, McKenna Ritchie emerged as a defensive powerhouse, securing her first NJAC career honor. She led the Ospreys with 46 digs, seven assists, and five aces during a fruitful 2-1 week. Ritchie showcased her skills with notable performances, amassing impressive dig numbers against formidable opponents like Montclair State and Lebanon Valley.
Stockton Men’s Soccer and Volleyball teams are set for exciting matchups in the upcoming days. Men’s Soccer will face Rutgers University and Ramapo College, while Stockton Volleyball takes on Kean University.
