Career Education and Development holds Career and Internship Fair

On Thursday, October 4, 2023, the Office of Career Education and Development held a Career and Internship Fair in the Sports Center for the Fall 2023 semester. There were roughly 120 employers present at the fair to discuss career prospects with students and alumni who were in attendance.

Among the employers that attended the fair were Renaissance Group, Spencer’s and Spirits, Trenton’s Public Schools District, Bloomberg, Bayada, Enterprise Holdings, South Jersey Industries, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Atlanticare, NJ Dept. of Transportation, Ocean Casino and resort, Walgreens, Sherwin-Williams, Renault Winery Resort and the Office of Graduate Admissions among others.

Each of these organizations was represented by officials who interacted with the students at the fair to understand their career goals and share some insight on how the students can advance themselves professionally. The organizations’ representatives also shared employment and internship opportunities with some of the students at the fair. Interestingly, some of the representatives present were Stockton alumni.

Speaking on behalf of Optimal Health, chiropractor Rick Carlson said that they were present to network with students, particularly those with an interest in chiropractic medicine and physical therapy. He further shared that to be a chiropractor, after students graduate from college with a bachelor’s degree, they would have to go to chiropractor medicine college.

Rob Banks spoke for the Trenton Public Schools district and he stated that the district is looking to hire teachers that will teach the next generation of leaders and empower them with the necessary skills to be successful in life and their chosen profession.

The fair ended at about 2 p.m. and there were a number of Ospreys in attendance.
