On September 27 and 28, 2023, the Office of Career Education and Development and the Office of Student Development hosted the Resume Rush for the Fall 2023 semester in the C/D Atrium. Every semester, these offices hold the resume rush as part of the efforts to get students prepared for the Career and Internship Fair.
Several representatives from different firms like Employers Today, Enterprise, Spencer’s and Spirit Halloween, Positive Behaviors Support, Marriott, Evolution, Stockton Career Education and Development staff, and the Director of the Multicultural Center, Jovin Fernandez, were present to review the resumes of the students and provide constructive feedback that will guide them to prepare better resumes to present to employers at the Career and Internship Fair.
Erin Rynkiewicz from South Jersey Industries, the parent company of South Jersey Gas described South Jersey Gas as a utility company with over 400,000 customers in Atlantic County. She said that the company is increasing its partnership with Stockton and looking for ways to recruit students and build stronger connections; as well as to help students and give back to the community.
Parth Thakkar of the Office of Student Development described the Resume Rush as an opportunity for students to meet with some employers and get their resumes reviewed by employers who are hiring and connect with them. Thakkar emphasized that they try to have a diverse set of employers so students from different backgrounds can have an opportunity with these employers.
