The Stockton Ospreys (4-0-2) played against Haverford College (1-1-5) on Wednesday, September 20 at 7:30 p.m. at home to clinch a 1-0 win and extend their unbeaten streak to six for the season.

Each team had chances to attack at the opening of the game, and they both kicked off with strong high energy and intensity. Within the fifth minute, Antonio Matos (#8) stole possession from Haverford and had their first chance on goal. Less than two minutes later, Matos had another shot on goal but missed the shot. Brady Bartletta (#00) had his first save in the first ten minutes of the game to keep the score level. Haverford had a chance of a throw-in in the 25th minute. From the top of the 18-yard box, the ball flew wide. Stockton had an opportunity after Haverford’s counter, but the ball went high above the goal.

Stockton continued to press but came up short. Both teams remained scoreless at the half.

The energy was carried over from the start of the game to the beginning of the second half. The Ospreys created three solid scoring chances to give Haverford an unpleasant surprise.

Up until the 54th minute, the score was tied, until Joseph Dawson (#16) ran the ball up on the side and the Haverford goalie, Dylan Loffreda blocked the shot and the ball landed at the foot of freshman, Enst Louisius (#4) to hit the ball in for the follow-up to give Stockton a 1-0 lead over Haverford.

Stockton remained extremely fluid on the ball and was able to keep Haverford out of possession for the majority of the game.

In the 63rd minute, Aidan Lacy (#16) was on the counter and the ball was fired at goal and hit the crossbar. Despite the fact that both teams combined for 24 shots, Stockton held onto their one-goal lead and was able to sustain it until the final whistle.
