Stockton students and staff share their first-week experiences of the 2023 semester

On Tuesday, September 5th, 2023, Stockton University resumed classes for the Fall 2023 semester. With many members of the community back on campus on the first day of classes, one would conclude that this resumption was much anticipated by students, faculty, and staff.

Some students were seen reconnecting with their friends from last semester and others, especially the new students, tried navigating their way through campus. They could be seen asking questions like where is this class room or the USC and so on. It was no doubt amazing seeing new and returning students on campus after the long summer holidays.

The Argo spoke with Jeff Wakeman, the Director for Student Development, who expressed excitement about the new semester while stating that there are lots of activities planned for the semester to give students a memorable college experience. These activities include last week’s SPACES welcome reception, the upcoming Get Involved Fair, the Career Fair, and so much more. He further advised that students take advantage of the many resources available on campus to ensure that they have a great semester.

Sophomore and Digital Studies major, Victor Ezeagu shared with The Argo that he is excited for the new semester and has high hopes that it will be a wonderful semester for him and his friends. He added he noticed many new students on campus and was happy to see that the student population appears, in his opinion, to be more diverse this semester.

Sophomore and Business major Dylan DeFreese shared in Ezeagu’s enthusiasm, telling The Argo that he is excited to be back on campus and be able to interact with his friends once again.

Undoubtedly, many people within the Stockton community are excited about the new semester, with some feeling assured that this is going to be the best one yet.
